Jiiva’s Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil 2 planned as Super Good Films’ 100th movie?
Following the success of the first film, Super Good Films is reportedly developing Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil 2 while Jiiva expands his lineup.
Jiiva’s successful comeback phase appears set to continue, with industry buzz suggesting that Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil 2 is being developed as the prestigious 100th production venture of Super Good Films. The sequel is expected to follow the completion of Magudam, the Vishal starrer, which marks the prestigious banner’s 99th flick.
According to reports, director Nitish Sahadev is set to return for the sequel, which will directly continue the story established in the first installment. Script and story discussions are currently underway, with the narrative once again expected to revolve around Jeevarathanam, the beloved village president whose unique approach to resolving local conflicts and humorous situations resonated strongly with audiences.
The first film emerged as one of the surprise commercial successes of the year, reportedly grossing over 40 crore worldwide and significantly boosting Jiiva’s career momentum.
Apart from the sequel buzz, Jiiva’s slate remains packed with promising projects. Lark Studios recently announced a new film starring the actor, directed by Venkat Raghavan and cinematographed by Sukumar. The project is scheduled to begin filming around Madurai next month.
Jiiva has also completed work on Jollya Iruntha Orutthan (JIO), directed by Rajesh. The comedy entertainer wrapped production in March and is currently progressing through post-production ahead of its release.
With multiple projects in various stages of production and a potential sequel to one of his biggest recent hits on the horizon, Jiiva appears to be entering one of the most productive phases of his career.
