Jana Nayagan producer opens up on Vijay’s emotional farewell and massive release
KVN Productions' Venkata Narayana believes Jana Nayagan will create lasting memories as Vijay's final film, backed by extensive changes and a record-breaking worldwide release.

With Jana Nayagan gearing up for a grand worldwide release on July 23, producer K. Venkata Narayana has shared fresh insights into Vijay’s final film, calling it an emotional cinematic farewell that audiences will cherish for years.
Speaking about the film’s release, the producer said he is confident that audiences will wholeheartedly embrace Jana Nayagan. He believes cinema is a shared experience and expects fans to create lasting memories by celebrating Vijay’s final appearance on the big screen. He also revealed that the release plans were discussed with Honourable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, adding that the actor invested immense hard work and emotion into the project.
The producer confirmed that Jana Nayagan will enjoy one of the biggest worldwide releases for a Tamil film. According to him, the film is expected to release in more than 30 countries across 7,000 to 8,000 screens, with additional theatres still being added. A final screen count is expected to be announced soon.
Venkata Narayana also revealed that the version reaching theatres is significantly different from the one initially completed. Following several challenges during production and certification, the makers incorporated multiple additions and modifications, including changes to songs and certain portions of the film. He said audiences will experience a refreshed version that differs from what was originally planned.
Addressing the recently unveiled poster featuring the title card “Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Vijay”, the producer said the decision was influenced by overwhelming requests from fans and the public. He described the response to the revised title card as phenomenal, adding that the remaining surprises are best experienced in theatres.
The producer reserved special praise for composer Anirudh Ravichander, calling him an exceptional talent. He said the songs have already received tremendous appreciation and added that the background score will further elevate the theatrical experience. According to him, the visuals combined with Anirudh’s music will have an even greater impact on the big screen.
Reflecting on the film’s journey, K. Venkata Narayana described the experience as “magical.” He noted that several lyrics and moments from the film appear to have mirrored real-life events, particularly Vijay’s transition from cinema to public service. He pointed to songs like Oru Pere Varalaaru and Thalapathy Kacheri, saying their lyrics have gained a new meaning following Vijay’s political journey.
The producer also praised Vijay’s decision to leave cinema at the peak of his acting career to serve the people. He acknowledged that Vijay’s absence would create a void in the film industry but said his commitment to public service would ultimately benefit Tamil Nadu. Calling Vijay an irreplaceable star, he highlighted the actor’s dedication and involvement in every stage of filmmaking.
Finally, K. Venkata Narayana said Jana Nayagan holds a special place in his heart because of the emotions attached to the project and the way it addresses people’s concerns. He expects the film to evoke strong emotions, with some fans celebrating and others becoming emotional during Vijay’s final appearance on screen. “Once the film releases, it belongs to the audience,” he said, adding that the love received from viewers will matter more than box office numbers.
Jana Nayagan has been certified ‘A’ by the Central Board of Film Certification and is all set for a massive worldwide theatrical release on July 23.
