Hrithik Roshan reportedly joins Jailer 2 for special cameo
Reports suggest Hrithik Roshan will shoot a special cameo this month, marking his long-awaited on-screen reunion with Rajinikanth after 40 years.
The buzz around Jailer 2 has become even bigger. According to the latest reports, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is set to make a special cameo appearance in the highly anticipated sequel starring Rajinikanth.
If finalized, the project will reunite Hrithik and Rajinikanth on screen after nearly 40 years. The duo last shared screen space in the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada. Interestingly, Hrithik made his acting debut as a child artist in the film.
Reports suggest that Hrithik has agreed to be part of Jailer 2 after several rounds of discussions with the makers. He is expected to shoot for the film in Chennai on June 22 and June 23. Before filming begins, the actor will reportedly undergo multiple look tests.
The makers are said to be designing a completely new avatar for Hrithik. His role is expected to be mounted on a grand scale and packed with action. Sources claim that the cameo will appear at a crucial point in the story and help take the narrative forward.
Over the years, Hrithik has often spoken about his admiration for Rajinikanth. He has also expressed his desire to collaborate with the Superstar again. If the reports are accurate, Jailer 2 will finally make that reunion happen.
Just like the first installment, Jailer 2 is expected to feature several star-studded appearances. Reports indicate that Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vijay Sethupathi, and Mithun Chakraborty will also be part of the film in key roles or special appearances.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 stars Rajinikanth in the lead role. The cast also includes SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, Suraj, and Yogi Babu. The film is currently targeting a theatrical release in September 2026.
