Honored to work with Janaki ma’am: Anirudh

The songs of Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattadhari are declared super hit and topping the charts everywhere. Interestingly, the entire album has only two voices, Dhanush and Anirudh. Ask Anirudh if he this was a consciously made decision, he says, “No, it was not. It just happened during the recording. Dhanush has written the lyrics for the songs too. So, while writing, he would sing the songs and I found his voice to be apt for the songs, which mostly reflect the hero’s point of view. If a hero can sing, why not make him sing all the songs?”

On working with veteran singer Janaki, he says, “I am honored to work with Janaki ma’am. She has sung this song almost after 20 years and I was humbled when she agreed to sing this emotional song. This is my first ‘Amma’ song and it has become even more special after Janaki ma’am’s rendition. Her voice has added an emotional touch to the song.”
