“I don’t make films for publicity”, says Kamal Haasan

After receiving the prestigious third highest civilian award in the country, Kamal Haasan put forth an emotional statement to the nation. “I thought age would have brought about skepticism or even pragmatism since after all, politicians are also involved in this selection process, but I felt myself moved to tears,” said the actor. Kamal Haasan threatened to leave the country last year when his ambitious film Vishwaroopam faced ban in his own soil due to protests from a section of the community.

Vishwaroopam 2 is progressing well and on the verge of post production. This film is both a sequel and prequel to Vishwaroopam and will focus more on the romantic and emotional aspects. It is also technically advanced than the prequel, said Kamal Haasan. “I don’t make films for publicity rather I want it to be enjoyed by my audiences”, says the actor. Vishwaroopam is produced by Aascar Films and presented by Rajkamal International, Kamal Haasan’s home banner.
