The album kicks off with a banger, featuring a track that we’re all familiar with. This song was first showcased in the movie announcement promo. It blends Anirudh’s signature electronic beats, anthemic trumpets, and a different rendition of “D I S C O” from Thangamagan’s “Vaa Vaa Pakkam Vaa,” and closes with the unforgettable laughter of Thalaivar with the dialogue “Mudichudulaama.”
Chikitu: Singers – T Rajhendherr, Anirudh, Arivu
Anirudh is known for incorporating trendy catchphrases into his songs, and “Chikitu” follows suit by combining TR’s unique mouthed percussion sound into a groovy track. This song captures the essence of Rajni’s iconic intros from his earlier films highlighting his persona and attitude. Anirudh’s vocals infuse the vibe that the track truly desires and It’s sure to set the screen on fire!
Monica: Singers – Sublahshini, Anirudh, Rap by Asal Kolaar 👍
A slick and retro-infused track that is playful and seductive at the same time. It has its synths at the right place, and Anirudh ensures that the gibberish part has lot going for it. Sublashini does an excellent job with her modulation, and Anirudh’s arrangements work in favour of the song. Without wonder, an Insta reels hit.
Powerhouse: Singers – Arivu, Anirudh 👍
The hype song of the album and the movie. Following in the footsteps of “Hukum” and “Hunter Vantaar,” this track is sure to elevate Rajni’s screen presence. The lyrics praise the Superstar’s qualities and have been buzzing on the internet for featuring “Say my Name” from the famous Breaking Bad series and Rajnikanth’s dialogue “Thodura Paaklam” adds goose bumps organically. The audience will go wild when this track plays during the movie.
Uyirnaadi Nanbane: Singers – Sai Smriti, Anirudh
Every Anirudh album has a signature melody, and this one is no exception. This soulful ballad features beautifully orchestrated violin notes and lyrics that express a deep yearning for love. Sai Smriti’s vocals are mesmerizing and will keep you coming back to this track.
I Am The Danger: Singers – Siddharth Basrur, Anirudh 👍
What’s an Anirudh-Lokesh combo without an epic rock ‘n’ roll anthem? This song features powerful guitar riffs and thumping drums, with English lyrics throughout. It has a familiar vibe reminiscent of “Vikram” and “Leo.” We expect this track to amplify one of the movie’s key moments. It’s definitely one of the standout tracks and our pick of the album!
Kokki: Singers – Sooraj Santhosh, Amogh Balaji 👍
This track threw us off guard and is a pleasant surprise. It mixes electronic beats with Carnatic style for vocals, creating a beautiful vibe. The song is clearly composed as a background score for one of the movie’s key characters. It’s definitely a track you’ll want to listen to on repeat.
Mobsta: Singer – Anirudh 👍
“Mobsta” is the “The Eagle is Coming” version for Coolie. While it does feel like a suitable sequel to the Vikram track, the song has its own energy and Anirudh nails it with his rendition. Killer stuff from him again, a powerful song in the album.
On the whole, Coolie is definitely another feather in the Lokesh-Anirudh combo-verse. The entire album is packed with energetic tracks that are sure to uplift the movie. We can’t wait to see how these songs play out during the film. All said and done, this album will be on loop for fans of Anirudh’s signature music and Rajnikanth enthusiasts eagerly awaiting August 14th.
