Vikram and Anand Shankar's Chiyaan 63 has officially begun shooting, with reports hinting at an action thriller centered on redemption, survival and revenge.
Actor Vikram’s upcoming film, tentatively titled Chiyaan 63, is progressing steadily after its official announcement earlier this year. The project marks Vikram’s reunion with director Anand Shankar, nearly a decade after their successful collaboration on Iru Mugan. Backed by Sathya Jyothi Films, the makers have now officially commenced the shooting of the highly anticipated entertainer.
Since the announcement in April, the film has generated considerable excitement among fans. While the makers are yet to reveal plot details, several reports have offered intriguing hints about the storyline. According to industry buzz, Vikram is expected to play a chef who finds himself relentlessly pursued by a dangerous gang. However, the narrative reportedly carries a major twist, with the character having deep connections to a gangster past.
Reports further suggest that the action thriller revolves around a man attempting to leave behind a troubled history, only to be pulled back into a world of conflict and danger. Themes of redemption, survival, and revenge are said to form the emotional backbone of the film, adding depth to its action-packed narrative.
The project also features an interesting supporting cast. Producer Riya Shibu, who previously backed Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, is set to make her Tamil acting debut with Chiyaan 63. Joining her is actress Samyuktha Hegde, who reportedly impressed the filmmakers with her viral saree push-up video. The actress has also spoken about Vikram’s humility and supportive nature on the sets.
On the technical front, the film brings together a strong team. Music composer Santhosh Narayanan reunites with Vikram after their acclaimed collaboration in Mahaan (2022). Veteran cinematographer RD Rajasekar ISC has been roped in to handle the visuals, while Poornima will oversee the costume design department.
Produced by TG Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films, along with Sendhil Thyagarajan, Arjun Thyagarajan, and Sai Siddharth, Chiyaan 63 has already emerged as one of the most anticipated Tamil films in production.
