Chennai City Gangsters Movie Review: A mildly funny ride for genre fans.
A light, time-pass comic heist entertainer with decent laughs. Down goes our Chennai City Gangsters Review.

Comic films about heists are always a fun genre to watch out for, and Chennai City Gangsters features a host of comedians who are on the way to rob a bank for money, and some reasons from the past.
The film has a somewhat interesting plot (although old) and it could have done a lot with it. While it is laudable that it does not resort to double meaning comics or vulgarity, the film offers only a few laughs in its runtime and does not have much going for it. Though it has many talented artists and a good technical team, writer-directors Vikram Rajeshwar and Arun Keshav do not make best use of the oppurtunity and get busy trying to move ahead with lame jokes.
It is only the few comics of Anand Raaj and Mottai Rajendran which help the film to an extent, and they manage to bring up some laughs here and there. In terms of the technical factors, Chennai City Gangsters is good and we get a couple of good energetic songs from Imman this time too.
On the whole, Chennai City Gangsters is a middling comedy entertainer that works out some funny sequences and might work out for fans of the genre.
Verdict: A timepass comic heist entertainer!
