Bogan director clarifies on story theft issue

While aspiring writer-director Antony has accused Bogan team for stealing his story and threatening him with goondas, director Lakshman has completely issued a clarification to clear the air.

“It was producer Nemichand Jhabak who told Antony that I’m making a similar story like what he narrated him a year back. Later, Nemichand had apparently told him my concept. Later, Antony altered his screenplay to my concept and immediately registered as a member in writer’s union January 11th, 2016. Within two days, he submitted his script in the union, who eventually called me for talks. They concluded that some portions are similar in both stories but the screenplay is completely different” says director Lakshman.

“When I created this script, I watched a lot of English films and got inspired. I have submitted the DVDs of those English films too in the court. Like time machine, ghost and robots, I have handled a concept in Bogan. Those concepts are universal. No one take ownership for these concepts,” adds Lakshman.

Produced by Prabhu Deva Studios, Bogan stars Jayam Ravi, Aravind Swami and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles.
