Bairavaa pre-release business figures pegged at Rs. 50 crore in TN

The Tamil Nadu pre-release theatrical business of Vijay’s Bairavaa has touched a whopping Rs. 50 crores. The theatrical rights were acquired by Sri Green Productions from Vijaya Productions, the makers of the film. Almost all territories have been sold out and trade sources now suggest that this is a record for any non-Rajinikanth film in the state.

The film will now have to perform on par with Vijay’s last hit film Theri, which is the highest grossing movie in TN this year. A gross of Rs. 75 crores and above is needed for the film to be a safe bet for all stakeholders involved. Directed by Bharathan, the film has Keerthy Suresh as the lead heroine. The film is all set for Pongal release worldwide and the trailer of Bairavaa will be out tonight as a treat to Ilaya Thalapathy fans for this New Year.
