Sai Pallavi plays IPS officer Nithya Reddy in Dhanush’s OM: Chapter 1

Sai Pallavi takes on the role of a police officer in OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood, starring Dhanush and Mammootty. The makers have released a new character glimpse introducing her as Nithya Reddy, who leads an investigation into the illegal red sandalwood trade.

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the upcoming action thriller follows a mission that brings law enforcement into conflict with a network involved in red sandalwood smuggling. The new glimpse offers details about Nithya’s background and the personal reasons behind her commitment to the case.

Nithya Reddy begins her career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Andhra Pradesh. She later rises to the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation. Her work also brings her into an assignment involving Interpol, where she takes charge of Operation OM.

The glimpse reveals that Nithya is the daughter of an Indian Forest Service officer who was killed while on duty. His death gives her a personal connection to the fight against forest-related crimes. She now leads an operation to track those involved in the illegal trade and protect the natural environment.

The character introduction presents Sai Pallavi in a more action-oriented role. It also highlights Nithya’s determination, intelligence and professional experience. The glimpse hints at the scale of the investigation, although the makers have kept several details about the story under wraps.

Rajkumar Periasamy has praised Sai Pallavi’s performance, describing her as “THE PERFORMER” while introducing the character. The director previously worked with the actor in Amaran. Their reunion in OM marks another collaboration between the two.

The film stars Dhanush in the lead role, with Mammootty playing a pivotal character. Sai Abhyankkar has composed the music for the film, while Ezhil Arasu K handles cinematography and Kalaivanan is in charge of editing. Yannick Ben and Kecha Khamphakdee have choreographed the action sequences.
