World of Parasakthi video reveals the scale behind Sudha Kongara’s period epic
With candid insights from the cast and crew, the ‘World of Parasakthi’ video showcases the film’s artistic depth, historical setting, and the meticulous planning behind its grand cinematic vision.

The makers of Parasakthi unveiled the anticipated ‘World of Parasakthi’ video this evening, offering an immersive glimpse into the extensive creative and technical groundwork behind the film. The video highlights every major aspect of the production, including character design, art direction, cinematography, stunt choreography, production scale, and the director’s overarching vision for this ambitious period drama set against a 1960s backdrop.
Director Sudha Kongara elaborated on the meticulous preparation that went into shaping Parasakthi. She spoke about the evolution of character looks, the inspirations that influenced them, and the extensive travel undertaken to authentically capture period locations ranging from Colombo in Sri Lanka to Karaikudi, Puducherry, and several other places. Her detailed narration underlined the film’s commitment to historical texture and realism, making the behind-the-scenes insights particularly compelling.
Lead actor Sivakarthikeyan, who essays the role of Chezhiyan, described Parasakthi as a deeply special project that also marks his 25th film as a leading actor. He discussed the uniqueness of his character, the carefully curated costumes, and the refreshing visual transformation required for the role. Sivakarthikeyan further revealed that the film revolves around a students’ movement, a theme that instantly drew him to the script. He concluded by calling Parasakthi a complete theatrical experience with strong commercial appeal and a wide emotional spectrum.
Ravi Mohan, who plays the antagonist Thirunaadan, shared that even Sudha Kongara initially found it hard to imagine him in the role. However, he embraced the challenge, believing strongly in the film’s power to connect with audiences. Sudha, in turn, acknowledged Ravi Mohan’s courage in taking up the role, stating that his conviction was what prompted her to offer him the script.
Actors Atharvaa (as Chinnadurai) and Sreeleela (as Ratnamala) also spoke about their excitement in being part of the project. Key technicians, including cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, stunt master Supreme Sundar, and composer GV Prakash Kumar – for whom this marks his 100th film, along with the production and costume teams, shared their perspectives on the scale and ambition of the film.
Regarded as one of the most anticipated films of 2026, Parasakthi is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on January 10th. The film’s trailer and audio launch are expected this week, with the grand audio launch scheduled to take place at Sai Ram College, Chennai, on January 3rd.
