Sivakarthikeyan reveals upcoming projects at SIIMA as ‘Amaran’ sweeps 7 awards

Sivakarthikeyan announces exciting lineup with Cibi Chakravarthy, Venkat Prabhu, and potential collaboration with Pushkar-Gayatri during SIIMA speech.

Sivakarthikeyan had more than one reason to celebrate at the SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards) 2025 held in Dubai, as his film Amaran emerged as the big winner of the night with an impressive seven awards. The film, a tribute to Major Mukund Varadarajan, not only garnered critical and box office acclaim but also reaffirmed its impact with multiple honors, making it a proud moment for Tamil cinema.

The Amaran team walked away with:

  • Best Director – Rajkumar Periasamy
  • Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) – Sai Pallavi
  • Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) – Sivakarthikeyan
  • Best Playback Singer (Male) – Haricharan for Hey Minnale
  • Best Cinematography – CH Sai
  • Best Music Director – GV Prakash Kumar
  • Best Film – Produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI)

Sivakarthikeyan, accepting his Best Actor award, dedicated the win to the real-life hero Major Mukund Varadarajan, whose story inspired the film. The actor praised the entire team of Amaran for making Tamil cinema “shine bright” on a global stage.

During his acceptance speech, Sivakarthikeyan also surprised fans by revealing his upcoming lineup of films. His next project, tentatively titled SK26, will reunite him with director Cibi Chakravarthy, who previously collaborated with him on the hit film Don. Following that, he will move on to SK27, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The actor also hinted at an exciting collaboration with director duo Pushkar-Gayatri, which is currently in the discussion stage.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s latest release Madharaasi, which hit screens last Friday, continues to perform strongly at the box office. The film is expected to cross the 50 crore mark in Tamil Nadu before the upcoming weekend, adding another feather to the actor’s cap.

Sivakarthikeyan’s next release will be Parasakthi (SK25), directed by Sudha Kongara, and the film is slated for Pongal 2026 release.
