Atlee celebrates Shah Rukh Khan’s National Award win for Jawan

Taking to X, Atlee expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shah Rukh Khan for trusting him with Jawan, his first Hindi directorial. “Feeling blessed, Shah Rukh sir. I’m super happy that you’ve got the National Award for our movie Jawan. It feels very emotional and inspiring to be part of your journey,” he wrote.

Referring to the film as his “first love letter” to SRK, Atlee hinted at more to come in the future and thanked Gauri Khan and Red Chillies Entertainment for backing the project.

Atlee also celebrated singer Shilpa Rao’s National Award win for Chaleya, a popular romantic number from the film. “Super happy for Shilpa Rao to get one more National Award for Jawan. I feel so happy and emotional,” he noted, also acknowledging composer Anirudh Ravichander for the film’s music.

Describing the experience of working with Shah Rukh Khan as a lifelong dream fulfilled, Atlee added, “As a fanboy, making a film with you and presenting it in a mass mode is a pure blessing from God. This moment is more than enough for me.”

Jawan, released in 2023, was a massive commercial and critical success, praised for its action, performances, and social themes. The film marked a major milestone in Atlee’s career and further cemented Shah Rukh Khan’s legendary status in Indian cinema.
