Kamal Haasan’s voice-over sparks LCU crossover theories for Rajinikanth’s Coolie

Rajinikanth’s upcoming action drama Coolie, featuring Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Pooja Hegde, and Aamir Khan, is gearing up for a grand release on August 14th. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film was initially confirmed as a standalone venture, separate from the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which includes hits like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo.

However, recent reports suggest that Kamal Haasan may lend his voice to the film, reigniting speculation that Coolie could secretly be part of the LCU. Lokesh shares a strong bond with Kamal, who played a pivotal role in Vikram. If the voice-over rumor holds true, it could hint at a surprise crossover hidden until the film’s release.

According to Letterboxd, Rajinikanth plays Deva, a feared gold smuggler staging a high-tech comeback using vintage gold watches. The narrative’s themes of crime, power, and manipulation echo the LCU’s tone, adding fuel to fan theories. The film releases alongside War 2, setting up a major box office showdown.
