Ace Movie Review – A fun entertainer is what the film promises, and it delivers to an extent.

Ace is an effectually entertaining heist thriller led by VJS and Yogi Babu! Down goes our Ace Movie Review.

Vijay Sethupathi is back on the screen as a solo lead after Maharaja with Ace, a film that takes him back to the combination of Arumugakumar who he already worked with for Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren. This time, it’s more of a fun entertainer that has the combination of Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu together for its entirety, being the major draw.

Ace almost entirely takes place in Malaysia, where Bolt Kannan (Vijay Sethupathi) befriends Yogi Babu and moves in with him. The film picks up from the point where Vijay Sethupathi’s character meets that of Rukmini Vasanth and he finally decides that he has to arrange big bucks to get his friends out of tough situations. In order to do that, he plans a heist, which in turn opens up a can of worms in his life. The first half of the film takes a lot of times to set things in motion, but the second half somewhat pushes the ante up with a climax run that takes the film to fair quarters.

Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu together travel for the full film and that becomes the biggest plus line for Ace, as their combination manages to keep the ball rolling until the end and brings in some laughs. The film also benefits from Rukmini Vasanth’s presence, who has a fresh face.

The film has decent cinematography and the song Urugudhu Urugudhu is shot in a lovely way, to the tune of Justin Prabhakaran. Sam CS has worked on the BGM of the film, and he has done a good job.

On the whole, Ace is a time pass fun entertainer that is harmless to watch.

Verdict – Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu keep us entertained in this comic ride!
