48-day-long TFPC strike ends; new releases likely from April 20th

The 48-day-long strike of Tamil film industry has finally come to an end. Sources say new Tamil films will release from Aprill 20th.

Addressing reporters yesterday, Vishal said, “Tamil Nadu government has agreed to pass a GO which makes computerized ticketing mandatory in all theaters from June 1st. They have also accepted the flexibility pricing for various categories of movies.”

Regarding the reduction in VPF fee, Vishal said, “The VPF of E Cinema has been reduced from Rs 9,000 to Rs 5,000 and for the film full run, it is reduced from Rs 22,000 to Rs 10,000. We will have another round of talks with the DSP and take a decision on D Cinema’s price.”
