2 Point 0 budget spiralled to Rs. 400 crores

The budget of 2.o, which is touted as Asia’s most expensive project, has now spiralled to Rs. 400 crores from Rs. 350 crores as estimated earlier. Raju Mahalingam, Creative Head of Lyca Productions, has said that the team has risen the budget to enhance the visual effects work in the movie on par with Hollywood blockbusters.

The makers are planning to release the film in six languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin and English. Raju Mahalingam has also revealed there have been enquiries from countries like Brazil and Argentina, which are slightly unexplored markets for Tamil cinema. Distributors from Austria and Germany are also said to be willing to screen the film in nearly 300 screens in their markets. Directed by Shankar, 2.o has Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy  Jackson in important roles. The movie is set for a worldwide release on Diwali 2017.
