“There’s no melodrama in Thozha,” says Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna Akkineni, who plays a quadriplegic billionaire in Thozha, says that his sons – Akhil and Chaitanya – were not happy seeing him in a wheelchair-bound role. “Even today, they aren’t happy to see me as a handicapped person but I convinced them that it was just a role. Initially when the director approached me with the script, he had included a flashback sequence, which I refused to do,” says Nagarjuna.

“The best part of the film is that there’s no melodrama or unnecessary content attached to it. Thozha is something that is really close to my heart as it emotionally drew a lot from me, since I’m confined to a wheelchair throughout,” Nagarjuna adds.

Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by PVP Cinema, Thozha stars Karthi and Tamannah in important roles. The film is slated to hit the screens on March 25th.
