Siddharth’s request to Vijay Sethupathi

Speaking at the audio launch of Sethupathi, Siddharth put forward a hilarious request to Vijay Sethupathi. “I have been following Vijay Sethupathi’s since Pizza, which I loved it. After watching Pannaiyaarum Padminiyum, I thought Tamil cinema has got one brilliant director and called Arun Kumar. I told him, ‘Fantastic film brother. We should definitely work together soon’. He said, ‘No Sir. I’m doing a film with my first film hero (Vijay Sethupathi)’. After watching Soodhu Kavvum, I called Nalan and told him, ‘We should definitely collaborate for a project’. He said, ‘No Sir. I’m doing a film with my first film hero’. When I was doing Jigarthanda, I asked Karthik about his next film and he too said the same,” said Siddharth.

“Recently when I was talking to Vishal, I told him that we should create one separate Nadigar Sangam for Vijay Sethupathi so that he can act separately in ten extraordinary films per year. I request Vijay Sethupathi to allow his directors to make films for others too. They don’t seem to cross the compound walls of Vijay,” Siddharth added light-heartedly bringing the roof down.

Directed by Arun Kumar, Sethupathi has Vijay Sethupathi playing the titular role as a cop and Remya Nambeesan as his wife. It is set for release in February.
