Lively Listens!

Romeo Juliet is a likeable album from D.Imman, who ventures out of his comfort zone for a change. Though most of the tracks are interesting in their own ways, it is the two kuthu beats which are the standouts in this offering

Cast: Jayam Ravi, Hansika, Poonam Bajwa

Director: Lakshman

Producer: S Nandhagopal

Music Composer: D. Imman

Label: Sony Music

Lyrics: Madhan Karky, Rokesh, Thamarai

  • Dandanakka: Singer – Anirudh:  Much has already been said about Dandanakka, a song which is right on top of the charts at the moment. Anirudh’s energetic vocals along with Rokesh’s catchy lyrics have made this one a chartbuster already. The TR factor is very much the USP of this track, making it our PICK
  • Thoovanam: Singers – Vishal Dadlani & Sunitha Sarathy: The composer starts off this track in his trademark style and then hands over the attention to Vishal Dadlani. Thamarai’s lyrics play an important role here, instilling a likable feel through the earthy vocals. The tap-based orchestration is nothing more than pedestrian but it is the rendition which makes this one click
  • Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai: Singer – Vaikom Vijayalakshmi: Imman’s union with VaikomVijayalakshmi has always lead to some notable numbers. The latest to join the list is this innovative track, brimming with funky lyrics by Madhan Karky. The beats are maintained simple, so as to not ebb out the wonderful vocals. A harmless winner this
  • Romeo Romeo: Singers – Vishal Dadlani, Hyde Karty: Yes we have Vishal back on the mic and some catchy lines by Karky, but an outdated tune takes away all the colour from this song. An underwhelming track in the album
  • Arakki: Singer – Anthony Dasan: A tantalizing combination of Imman’s exciting tune along with Anthony Dasan’s spry crooning result in an absolutely entertaining number. Watch out for the pipe interludes which work in tandem with some electronic bits. This is one track which will breach through FM stations very soon. Our PICK!
  • Thoovanam Reprise: Singer – Sunitha Sarathy: A rehash of the second track in the album, this time with completely feminine rendition. Light on the ears, this is a decent track which impresses within boundaries.
