Commendable, compelling effort.
Here comes an instantly likable soundtrack which will easily strike a chord with the youth. In his first full outing, the composer makes sure that he maintains the balance between using live percussion instruments and EDM – a point which goes overhead for few others. With Ko2, Leon James makes a glittering entry into the young brigade. His presence is now felt.

Leon gets things going in sunny fashion with this peppy track. Grabbing the mic himself along with Neeti, the song works thanks to its highly catchy ‘Kohila’ hook and the lovely string interlude. First up, our PICK!
Vidaadha: Singers – Vishal Dadlani, Leon James
A typecast adrenaline booster where we have Vishal Dadlani making his way in with his rough vocals, once again. It is the strong familiarity which acts against the song.
Kannamaa: Singers – InnoGenga, Chinmayi
YouTube sensation InnoGenga makes his debut through this gorgeous tune, but it is truly Chinmayi who infuses a lot of zeal into this number. Na.Muthukumar comes to the fore with some noteworthy lyrics.
Unnai Maatrinaal: Singers – Harish Sivaramakrishnan and Sargam Choir
Utterly motivating lyrics, a goosebump-packed beat and strong, unaltered vocals constitute this beaut of a song. Released earlier as a single, this has already made waves as a fitting tribute to the late APJ Abdul Kalam. One more PICK!
Kannamaa Reprise: Singer – Salim Merchant
Mellifluous, Bollywood-like pathos which holds the big advantage of Salim’s vocals. A minimalistic version of the earlier track of the same name, but boy, it does make a bigger impact. Yet another PICK!
Ko 2 Theme: Instrumental
Purely electronic theme which went really well with the teaser and should probably do the same in the film.
