Yatchan Movie Preview

The busy month of September gets busier. After Paayum Puli and Savaale Samaali took charge of the first weekend, this weekend’s front-runner is Vishnuvardhan’s Yatchan, which stars Arya and Kreshna. Touted to be an entertaining thriller based on the chaos theory, the film was born from a short story written by writers Subha.

The trailers promised a lot of fun, as the premise looked familiar to Vishnuvardhan’s films in the earlier days (say Pattiyal, Arindhum Ariyamalum). Songs, comics, thrills and spills galore – Yatchan promises a complete treat for commercial movie lovers, with its own share of novelty. As the director said at the press meet, Thambi Ramaih’s role is a crucial one in the film, which has Adil Hussain as the villain.

Reservations for the film will commence tomorrow across all centres, with the U certificate playing a huge role in pulling folk of all ages to theatres. Here are five reasons why you should catch the film this weekend,

  • Yuvan’s songs have topped the charts across various radio stations and online streaming platforms. Konjalaai, Parapara and Kaakaponnu have all found their target audience and struck gold, making it an eclectic feast for music lovers.
  • The writer duo Suresh – Balakrishnan return for yet another different script, after the stupendous success of Thani Oruvan.
  • Arya’s combo with director Vishnuvardhan has always lead to good films, and Yatchan will look to keep up that name.
  • Technically, Yatchan is a biggie with cinematography by Om Prakash, art by Ilayaraja and editing by Sreekar Prasad. Vishnuvardhan’s wife Anu Vardhan has worked on the costumes.
  • Yatchan will surely be a treat for Ajith fans. Arya plays a die-hard fan of Ajith in the film, and the opening song has tidbits of paal-abisekhams and theatre whistles for the big star.
