When Rajinikanth gave nod to Gautham Menon

In an interview to a Tamil daily, Gautham Menon has revealed that he had narrated a script to Rajinikanth which the latter gave his nod to before he eventually greenlit Ranjith’s Kabali. “Recently, I narrated a script to him in the morning time. After an hour, I got a message saying he has given his nod and I will be working on the project. But the same night they confirmed that he is not doing this project as he has finalized some other story. It was such an eventful day for me,” reveals Gautham Menon.

“I have never shared this information with anyone before. Rajini sir listened to the story happily and even asked ‘When can we go for shooting?’. But, I don’t know what happened after that. It’s definitely an unforgettable day in my 15-year-old cinema career,” says Gautham Menon who is currently directing Simbu’s Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada.
