Vikram Prabhu has been awarded the prestigious Kalaimamani by the Tamil Nadu government for the year 2022. Expressing his gratitude on social media, Vikram Prabhu dedicated the honour to his family, filmmakers, technicians, colleagues, fans, and everyone who has supported his cinematic journey. “Cinema has given me everything,” he wrote. “I will continue to give my all to this art form.”
The Kalaimamani award, conferred by the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram, is one of the state’s highest recognitions for contributions to the arts. The latest list covers recipients from 2021 to 2023, including notable names like SJ Suryah, Sai Pallavi, Lingusamy, and Super Subbarayan. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Chennai, led by Chief Minister MK Stalin.
Vikram Prabhu, known for striking a balance between commercial and content-driven films, was recently seen in Love Marriage and the Telugu film Ghaati. He is currently working on his upcoming project, Sirai. Carrying forward the legacy of his legendary grandfather Sivaji Ganesan and father Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu continues to evolve as a performer, earning respect for his sincerity, versatility, and grounded presence in Tamil cinema.
