Vijay to resume political journey and Jana Nayagan campaign after Karur visit
Following Karur incident, Vijay pauses Jana Nayagan promotions and political activities; plans to visit affected families before next course of action.

The team behind Thalapathy Vijay’s much awaited action entertainer Jana Nayagan has reportedly paused its promotional activities, including the release of its first single, originally was buzzed for Diwali. The decision comes in the wake of the tragic events in Karur, with the team opting to delay the festivities out of respect for those affected. The move was reportedly made following a request from Vijay himself, who expressed the need to show solidarity during this time of mourning.
Adding to this, there is strong speculation that Vijay will visit the families of the victims in Karur on October 17th or 18th. Once the situation stabilizes, sources suggest that both his political journey and the promotional campaign for Jana Nayagan will resume in full swing.
Directed by H Vinoth with music composed by Anirudh, Jana Nayagan is slated for a grand release on January 9th, 2026, aligning with the Pongal festival. While the original plan was to begin promotions from this month with single releases, teaser drops, and an audio launch, the team is now said to be reassessing their timeline. In an exciting development, the grand audio launch of Jana Nayagan is expected to be held in Malaysia, adding an international spotlight to the film’s release campaign.
For now, the focus remains on the situation in Karur, with the promotional roadmap for Jana Nayagan set to roll out once the time is deemed appropriate.
