Vetri steps into a powerful action role with the upcoming thriller Black Gold

Known for his consistent choice of gripping, content driven roles, actor Vetri is set to reinvent himself as an action hero in his upcoming film Black Gold. Directed by Dheeran Arun Kumar of Theerpugal Virkkapadum fame, the film promises a fresh and thrilling narrative rooted in the unseen intersections between everyday life, big business, and the shadow world.

Speaking about the film, director Dheeran said, “The story is always the hero. Black Gold uncovers an unfamiliar world that’s deeply connected to the ordinary things we overlook.” The casting of Vetri was driven by the uniqueness of this untold story, marking a turning point in his career.

The film features an ensemble cast including Priyalaya, Livingston, Thulasi, A. Venkatesh, Bigg Boss Abhirami, Vijay TV Ramar, and others, each playing a vital role. Shooting began in April, with the second schedule now wrapped and the final phase set to commence.

Notably, the film features the rare use of a traditional ‘Surul Vaal’ weapon, requiring 10 days of rehearsals. Produced by M Moorthy under MM Studios, Black Gold is progressing at a brisk pace.
