Theater owners withdraw strike; to screen old films from today

Abirami Ramanathan, president of the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners and Distributors Association, has confirmed withdrawing the strike since the TN government has agreed to look into all their demands within a week. However, since the TFPC-DSP rift continues, the producers are not willing to release any new movies until their strike draws to a close.

So, theater owners across Tamil Nadu can only play old, already-released films until an amicable solution is reached between the TFPC-DSP standoff. Regarding the annulment of LBET (Local Body Entertainment Tax), the government has said that they will appoint a committee soon to look into it.
