Thalapathy Vijay speech Jana Nayagan Audio Launch: Gratitude, legacy and message for the future
Thalapathy Vijay addressed fans at the Jana Nayagan audio launch, reflecting on his 33-year cinematic journey, expressing heartfelt gratitude, praising the team and collaborators, and sharing a message of hope, legacy, and inspiration for the future.

Thalapathy Vijay delivered a powerful, emotional, and wide-ranging speech at the Jana Nayagan audio launch in Malaysia, reaffirming his deep bond with fans and reflecting on his journey, collaborations, and the road ahead.
Vijay began his speech in his trademark affectionate style, warmly greeting the audience and saying they live in his heart (En Nenjil Kudi Irukkum), instantly drawing thunderous applause. Highlighting Malaysia’s cultural significance, he noted that after Sri Lanka, Malaysia hosts one of the largest Tamil populations in the world. Recalling Tamil cinema’s long association with the country, he mentioned that films such as Billa (namma nanbar Ajith), Kaavalan, and Kuruvi were shot there, and thanked the Malaysian government for extending support to host the grand event.
Reflecting on his cinematic journey, Vijay said he entered the industry hoping to build a “small sand house,” but fans had given him a palace. Addressing the criticism he has faced since day one, he acknowledged that unwavering fan support over the past 33 years has been his greatest strength. He added that since fans have always stood by him, he would stand by them – not merely with words of thanks, but by repaying the debt through action.
Speaking about his collaborators, Vijay fondly renamed composer Anirudh Ravichander as “MDS,” short for “Musical Departmental Store,” praising his limitless creativity and ability to deliver songs and background scores in abundance. He described director H Vinoth as a socially responsible filmmaker and noted that while they were meant to collaborate earlier, Jana Nayagan finally brought them together.
Vijay also expressed confidence in Mamitha Baiju, stating that she would soon become a beloved “family favorite” through this film. He spoke warmly about Prakash Raj, saying he has consistently shared better on-screen chemistry with him since their Ghilli days. In a lighter moment, Vijay humorously remarked about earlier films that referenced Bobby Deol, adding that Deol now plays the antagonist in Jana Nayagan. Vijay paid a glowing compliment to Pooja Hegde, describing her as “Tamil Nadu’s Monica Bellucci,” highlighting her grace and cinematic appeal.
Opening up about the film’s production, Vijay revealed that discussions with KVN Productions began in 2023. He shared that when he decided to enter politics, he directly asked the producer if this shift would affect the project. The reassurance he received, Vijay said, strengthened his confidence in going ahead with the film.
Sharing a philosophical insight, Vijay remarked that success in life does not necessarily require friends, but strong opponents who push one to grow stronger. He concluded his address by hinting at a significant moment ahead, stating that 2026 would witness history repeating itself and urging everyone to be prepared to embrace it “for the people.”
The speech also featured lighter moments, including Vijay dancing to Thalapathy Kacheri, engaging in a rapid-fire interaction with the hosts, and responding thoughtfully to questions about legacy and change. As fans sang Yaar Petra Magano in what felt like a heartfelt farewell moment, Vijay smiled and reassured them, saying they could try to make him emotional – but he would not break down.
The evening ended with Vijay promising a trademark selfie video and leaving the audience with a blend of warmth, resolve, and quiet confidence – qualities that continue to define Thalapathy Vijay’s enduring legacy. As the event concluded, rain showered over the venue, bidding a poetic farewell to Thalapathy Vijay and creating a divine moment.
Jana Nayagan is set for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9th, while the grand audio launch will be telecast on Zee Tamil on January 4th, allowing audiences everywhere to relive a truly historic celebration.
