The makers of Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimayil, starring Jiiva in the lead, have officially locked the film’s theatrical release date. Originally slated to hit screens later this month, the family drama will now release earlier than planned, arriving in cinemas on January 15th, coinciding with the Pongal festival.

The announcement was made through an official statement issued by the Kannan Ravi Group, confirming that the decision was taken in consideration of the festive sentiment and with respect to the release circumstances surrounding Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan. The team stated that while they had initially hoped to celebrate Pongal alongside fans in a different manner, unavoidable circumstances led to a reshuffle of release plans.

Describing Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimayil as a warm, emotionally driven family drama, the makers expressed confidence that the film’s core values align perfectly with the spirit of Pongal.
