Thagappan title revealed: Jiiva’s next with Ra. Venkat has an intriguing Karuppu connect

The makers have officially unveiled the title of Jiiva’s upcoming film with director Ra. Venkat. Titled Thagappan, the announcement was accompanied by an intriguing poster that has already sparked discussions among fans, particularly because of its apparent connection to Karuppu.

Interestingly, a similar aesthetic was recently seen in Suriya’s Karuppu, leading to speculation about the thematic connection between the two films. Adding to the curiosity, the makers had also visited a Karuppusamy temple before commencing production, further strengthening the film’s association with the deity.

Directed by Ra. Venkat, who won acclaim for Kida, Thagappan marks his first collaboration with Jiiva. The film is currently being shot in and around Madurai, with the makers keeping the storyline under wraps. Going by the title and the first-look poster, the film appears to be rooted in a rustic backdrop with strong cultural and emotional elements.

Apart from Jiiva, Rajisha Vijayan and Lakshmy Ramakrishnan play pivotal roles in the film. The makers are yet to reveal the remaining cast members. On the technical front, Sukumar serves as the cinematographer, while further details about the music composer and other crew members are expected to be announced in the coming days.

With its title now officially revealed, Thagappan has generated considerable buzz, thanks to its earthy first look and the intriguing Karuppu connection. As Jiiva joins hands with Ra.
