In a recent interaction, director Atlee sounded quite confident and upbeat about his Diwali release Mersal starring Thalapathy Vijay in a triple role.
“Theri’s target was to hit 300 runs in 50 overs. The target of Mersal is to score 300 runs in 20 overs. It’s like a T20 match. I told Rahman sir that we should make a song for Tamils. Something like a Tamil anthem That’s how Aalaporaan Tamizhan was born,” said Atlee.
“Only a few directors can last for 10 to 12 years in the industry. Atlee has the ability to last for 20 plus years here. He has great intensity and energy. Atlee composes the shots and choreographs it in a world-class standard. He’s a technically sound filmmaker,” said SJ Suryah who plays a villain in the film.
