This Diwali, October 17, 2025, Tamil cinema gears up for a power-packed box office clash with two highly anticipated releases. Leading the lineup is Bison: Kaalamaadan, a sports drama starring Dhruv Vikram, directed by the acclaimed Mari Selvaraj and produced by Pa. Ranjith’s Neelam Studios in association with Applause Entertainment. Touted as an emotional and electrifying spectacle, the film’s Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have been acquired by Senthil’s Five Star Creations.
Joining the Diwali race is Dude, directed by Pradeep Ranganathan and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who recently scored big in Tamil Nadu with Good Bad Ugly starring Ajith Kumar. The Tamil Nadu and Karnataka distribution rights have been secured by Romeo Pictures’ Raahul, while its OTT rights were snapped up by Netflix for a staggering ₹25 crore.
With two notable titles set for release, Diwali 2025 is poised to witness a fresh wave of box office competition in Tamil cinema.
