Suriya’s Scene glimpse introduces DSP Inbaraj and his quirky side

Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj in Jithu Madhavan’s Scene, whose latest glimpse features a quirky police officer, social media humour and clues about the film’s crime-driven narrative.

The makers of Scene, starring Suriya in the lead role, have released a new glimpse introducing DSP Inbaraj. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film presents the actor as a police officer with an unconventional approach to his job.

The glimpse takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Inbaraj arrives at a crime scene and meets constable Sibi, played by Rajpriyan. Their conversation offers an early look at the officer’s personality. Although Inbaraj initially appears friendly, he also seems particular about how others perceive him.

One of the sequence’s humorous moments comes when Inbaraj notices a crowd gathered outside the crime scene. When Sibi offers to disperse the people, the officer has a different suggestion. He wants the crowd to remain because their footage could help make his social media reels look more impressive. He even asks them to record videos vertically.

The glimpse also highlights Inbaraj’s unpredictable nature. He advises a person against smoking and warns about its possible impact on fertility. However, the officer himself is seen smoking in another shot. This contrast adds another layer to the character and hints at the humor in Jithu Madhavan’s storytelling.

The promotional video also features the track ‘Respectaa’, with vocals by Arivu and lyrics by Vaasi. Alongside the pandemic-era sequence, Suriya is seen sporting a bearded look. This suggests that the film could explore events across different timelines.

Earlier, the makers introduced Naslen as Eeswaran, the antagonist in Scene. The film also stars Nazriya Nazim, Lal and Anandraj in important roles. Rajpriyan, who plays Sibi, makes his acting debut with the project.

Jithu Madhavan, known for Malayalam films such as Romancham and Aavesham, directs the film. Suriya and Jyothika produce it under Zhagaram Studios. The technical team includes composer Sushin Shyam, cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu and action director Chethan D’Souza.

With its mix of crime, humour and an unusual police protagonist, Scene offers a different look at Suriya’s screen persona. The film is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on November 6, coinciding with Deepavali.
