Suriya’s upcoming film with Aavesham fame Jithu Madhavan has been officially titled Scene, with the makers announcing a theatrical release for November 6, ahead of the Diwali weekend. The title was revealed through a teaser that also offers a glimpse into Suriya’s intriguing new character.
Written and directed by Jithu Madhavan, Scene marks his Tamil directorial debut after the success of Malayalam films such as Romancham and Aavesham. Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, a rebellious and unconventional police officer whose behavior appears to frequently put him at odds with his colleagues. The teaser also hints at his unusual relationship with prisoners, adding curiosity around the character and the film’s narrative.
The teaser presents Suriya in a swagger-filled cop avatar, suggesting that the actor is set to explore a distinctly different shade in this project. Inbaraj appears to have his own methods of dealing with criminals, while his clashes with fellow officers and prisoners indicate that the character could be one of the more eccentric roles in Suriya’s recent filmography.
The film also brings together an interesting ensemble. Nazriya Nazim and Naslen play prominent roles alongside Suriya, marking an important Tamil outing for both actors. Anandraj, Lal and social media personality Raj Priyan, who makes his feature film debut, are also part of the cast. Nazriya’s return to Tamil cinema after Thirumanam Enum Nikkah adds another point of interest to the project.
Jithu Madhavan has also reunited with several members of his previous creative team for Scene. Sushin Shyam composes the music, marking his Tamil debut, while Vineeth Augustian handles cinematography and Ajmal Sabu takes care of editing. Ashwini Kale is the production designer, with Chethan D’Souza handling the action choreography. Dravid Selvam has penned the Tamil dialogues.
Scene is produced by Suriya and Jyothika under Zhagaram Studios, with Jaishree Damodaran serving as co-producer. The film went on floors in December 2025 and completed its shoot in July this year. Netflix has acquired its streaming rights, while Sony Music has secured the music rights.
With Suriya stepping into an unconventional police role, Jithu Madhavan making his Tamil debut and the film bringing together a promising cast and technical team, Scene has already generated considerable curiosity. The film is now gearing up for a November 6 theatrical release, making it one of the major Tamil releases for the Diwali season.
