Suriya 50: Is Nelson set to direct Suriya’s milestone film?

Reports suggest Nelson is being considered for Suriya 50, while Sithara Entertainments and Anirudh Ravichander are also linked to the project.

Suriya 50 has already become one of the most discussed projects in Tamil cinema, even before an official announcement. According to the latest industry buzz, Suriya is keen on collaborating with director Nelson for his landmark 50th film.

Reports suggest that Suriya has expressed interest in having Nelson direct Suriya 50. The actor is said to be looking for a complete commercial entertainer that combines comedy, action and mass appeal. The project is expected to be a special celebration for fans, making the choice of director a crucial one.

However, Nelson is currently occupied with multiple commitments. The filmmaker is busy with the post production of Jailer 2. At the same time, pre-production work is also progressing on the much-awaited film that is expected to bring together Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. As a result, discussions regarding Suriya 50 are still believed to be in the early stages.

There is also speculation that Sithara Entertainments could produce Suriya 50. Producer Naga Vamsi reportedly shares a strong relationship with Suriya’s family, making the banner a potential choice for the prestigious venture. If the project takes shape, Anirudh Ravichander is expected to be considered for the music.

Meanwhile, Suriya is enjoying a highly successful phase in his career. The actor recently delivered a major blockbuster with Karuppu. He is now gearing up for the release of Vishwanath & Sons (Suriya 46), which is scheduled to hit theatres on August 14.

Apart from that, Suriya 47, directed by Jithu Madhavan, is nearing completion. Suriya 48 is expected to begin with TJ Gnanavel, while names such as Pa. Ranjith and H. Vinoth continue to be linked with Suriya 49.

While there is no official confirmation yet, the possibility of Nelson directing Suriya 50 has generated significant excitement. If the collaboration materialises, it could mark one of the biggest projects in Suriya’s career and a fitting way to celebrate his milestone film.
