Suriya 46 shooting enters final leg; film set to wrap soon

Final schedule of Venky Atluri’s Suriya 46 is underway, with wrap-up nearing and Summer 2026 release plans taking shape.

The much-awaited Suriya 46 shooting has entered its final leg, with the makers steadily moving towards wrapping up the Venky Atluri directorial. According to industry sources, the film is currently being shot on its concluding schedule, and the team is expected to call it a wrap soon. Billed as an out-and-out family entertainer, Suriya 46 is shaping up as a major addition to the actor’s diverse filmography and is tentatively slated for a Summer 2026 theatrical release.

Adding to the growing excitement, strong buzz suggests that the first-look glimpse of the film could be unveiled around Christmas. While the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the same, fans are eagerly awaiting a glimpse that could offer insight into Suriya’s character and the film’s tone.

In an earlier interview, director Venky Atluri revealed an interesting detail about the protagonist, stating that Suriya’s character draws inspiration from Sanjay Ramasamy, the actor’s iconic role from Ghajini (2005). This revelation has further heightened expectations, as audiences are curious to see how the essence of that memorable character is reimagined in a family-centric narrative.

Suriya 46 also marks a significant comeback for Raveena Tandon in Tamil cinema after more than two decades. The actor was last seen in Aalavandhan (2001), and her return has generated considerable interest. Mamitha Baiju plays a key role alongside Suriya, adding freshness to the cast.

On the technical front, the film boasts a strong crew, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music, Navin Nooli handling the edits, and Nimish Ravi serving as the cinematographer. With Suriya 46 shooting nearing completion, anticipation continues to build for official updates from the makers.
