At the recent NASSCOM People Summit 2025, popular actor Sivakarthikeyan opened up about his thoughts on film sequels. When asked which of his films he would consider making a Part 2 or sequel for, SK admitted, “I’m scared of sequels. It should have a very good script and must not spoil the success of the first part.”
Despite his reservations, Sivakarthikeyan expressed strong interest in trying a sequel for Maaveeran, citing its unique storyline. He said, “I want to try Maaveeran’s sequel because it was a unique script.”
Maaveeran, released in July 2023, turned out to be a hit outing for Sivakarthikeyan, further solidifying his stardom. The film was helmed by National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin, marking a significant collaboration. It was also the maiden production venture of Arun Viswa’s Shanthi Talkies, adding fresh energy to Tamil cinema.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is gearing up for his next release, Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss, set to hit theaters on September 5th. Additionally, shooting is underway for Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, which is expected to release for Pongal 2026.
