Sivakarthikeyan and Venkat Prabhu head to the US for advanced look tests?

Sivakarthikeyan and Venkat Prabhu travel to the US for advanced appearance-based technology tests, indicating major pre-production work underway for their upcoming collaboration.

Amid growing anticipation for his upcoming lineup, Sivakarthikeyan is reportedly set to travel to the United States along with director Venkat Prabhu. According to industry sources, the duo will be visiting an advanced technology facility in the US to conduct appearance-related tests for their next film together.

This development mirrors Venkat Prabhu’s process for The GOAT, where he and actor Vijay travelled to Los Angeles for high-end 3D VFX scanning at the well-known Lola VFX Studio. A similar examination is now expected for Sivakarthikeyan as part of the film’s pre-production pipeline, indicating that the project is being mounted on a technically ambitious scale. Both are expected to return to Chennai only by mid-December.

Meanwhile, this sudden overseas trip has sparked conversations in trade circles. With Sivakarthikeyan’s schedule currently centred around the Venkat Prabhu film, there is growing buzz on whether his other project, directed by Don filmmaker Cibi Chakravarthi will experience a slight delay. The film, said to be bankrolled by Passion Studios, was initially expected to go on floors in early December.

While no official clarification has been issued, the shift in timelines has led to speculation that the project might be pushed ahead for undisclosed reasons. Industry watchers believe the picture will become clearer once Sivakarthikeyan and Venkat Prabhu return from the US and resume their respective commitments.

Upon his return, Sivakarthikeyan will begin promotional activities for Parasakthi, which is set for a worldwide release on January 14th.
