Despite her father Kamal Haasan’s close bond with Rajinikanth, Shruti Haasan recently revealed that she barely knew the superstar before working with him on Coolie. Their past interactions were mostly formal, and it was only during the shoot that she truly connected with him. Reflecting on the experience, Shruti shared that while she had always seen Rajinikanth through the public’s eyes, working with him showed her the person behind the icon.
“He’s a blend of sharp wit and genuine warmth,” she said, adding that his humility and energy made the set a joyful space. “I even told him, ‘You’re actually really cool.’”
Coolie, which also features Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj, with cameos by Pooja Hegde and Aamir Khan, is slated for release on August 14.
