Shankar seeks police protection

After the protests announced by transgenders community touched an immense stage, director Shankar has sought police protection for his house in T Nagar. Transgenders community, spearheaded by telly anchor Rose Venkatesan, have been protesting outside Shankar’s house for the past two days.

They have raised objections to the way the character of popular Bollywood make-up artist Ojas Rajani, a transgender, has been portrayed in the film. They have accused Shankar for disparaging the transgender community in the film and lodged a complaint with the Chennai police. They are planning to continue protests until an apology from Shankar, Vikram and Santhanam has been made.
