The Scene audio and trailer launch event brought together the film’s cast and crew, along with special guests, who congratulated the team and shared their expectations. With the Suriya-starrer gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on November 6, coinciding with Diwali, the event featured several interesting moments and speeches.
Distributor Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory was among the first to share his experience after watching the film. He praised the team and described Scene as a new genre that blends crime, thriller and comedy. He also said the film takes off quickly and reaches a high point with its interval block. According to him, the second half features six major theatrical moments, with almost every sequence offering an exciting experience for audiences. He further expressed confidence that Suriya’s contribution to cinema would add up to a remarkable year.
Naslen, who plays the antagonist, was asked about stepping into a negative role opposite Suriya. He admitted that he felt scared while acting alongside the star, mainly because he has always admired him. However, he said the experience made him happy. When asked whether he was naturally quiet or putting on an act for the film, Naslen jokingly replied that his character was not entirely bad and was rather innocent.
Nazriya, who returns to Tamil cinema after 12 years, credited Suriya for being part of the project. Calling it a dream come true, she said she had missed a couple of earlier opportunities to work with him. She was delighted that their first collaboration had finally materialized through Jithu Madhavan’s film. Nazriya also expressed her excitement about being part of the director’s project.
Karthi spoke about Suriya having three film releases in a single year, drawing a comparison with the period when Kaakha Kaakha, Pithamagan and Aayutha Ezhuthu arrived in cinemas. He said the actor’s recent releases, Karuppu and Vishwanath and Sons, offered contrasting experiences. He added that Scene would be an entirely unexpected outing, describing it as an exciting dark comedy. Karthi also found it surprising and entertaining to see Suriya’s iconic Singam dialogue being used in a dark-humour setting.
Karthi also shared a lighter moment about Suriya and Jyotika’s recent vow renewal ceremony. He jokingly said their love for each other was so evident that the other couples at the event felt the pressure. He even revealed that people had teased him after watching the couple together. However, he described the ceremony as beautiful and expressed his happiness for them.
Director Jithu Madhavan addressed the numerous online theories surrounding Scene. He pointed out that the team had already released three teasers and a trailer, and encouraged audiences to rely on those promotional materials rather than speculation. He also said he did not want to add to the existing hype, preferring that viewers watch the film and share their opinions. When asked how he approached Naslen’s casting as a villain, the director jokingly said he had never looked at him as a romantic hero.
Suriya, in his speech at the Scene audio and trailer launch event, described the year as an important one, with three of his films reaching theatres. He recalled that Maayavi, Ghajini and Aaru had also released in the same year earlier in his career. He said Karuppu came together quickly, while Vishwanath and Sons received appreciation despite initial questions about his decision to do a family entertainer. The actor added that he always wants his films to offer something unpredictable.
Speaking about Scene, Suriya described it as a fresh experience filled with murder, mystery, madness and laughter. He also asked audiences to set aside the expectations created by the distributor’s speech and approach the film with an open mind. Promising a fun-filled theatrical experience, he invited everyone to celebrate Diwali with the film.
Suriya also thanked the teams of Ramayana and Mookuthi Amman 2 for accommodating Scene during the Diwali release window. He extended special thanks to Dhanush for announcing the postponement of OM after learning about the release plans of Suriya’s film.
One of the most personal moments came when Suriya spoke about his wife, Jyotika. He said that while a person cannot choose their parents or siblings, choosing a life partner is different. He credited Jyotika for guiding him through various phases of life and standing by him through his mistakes. Calling her the best mother, friend and life partner, Suriya also praised her strength as an actor and as a person.
