Sai Pallavi joins Dhanush’s D55; makers confirm her role in Rajkumar Periasamy’s film

After months of speculation, the D55 team confirms Sai Pallavi’s inclusion, raising expectations for the Rajkumar Periasamy directorial starring Dhanush, with Sreeleela also on board.

Following the announcements of composer Sai Abhyankkar and Sreeleela joining the cast, the makers of D55 have now revealed another highly anticipated update. Actress Sai Pallavi has officially been confirmed as part of the film, adding further weight to the ambitious project headlined by Dhanush. It is worth mentioning here that the D-SP pair was earlier seen in Maari 2.

Sai Pallavi’s association with D55 had been widely speculated for months. However, after Sreeleela was announced as the female lead, many believed that Sai Pallavi was no longer part of the film, especially considering her packed multilingual commitments. The latest confirmation from the makers has now put those assumptions to rest.

The Rajkumar Periasamy directorial marks yet another collaboration between the filmmaker and Sai Pallavi, whose performance played a pivotal role in the success of his previous film Amaran. Her inclusion is expected to significantly elevate expectations around D55, both creatively and commercially.

Earlier in the day, the team teased audiences with the line, “The woman you know, the role you don’t,” sparking strong speculation that Sai Pallavi will be seen in an entirely new avatar. The announcement has further fueled curiosity around her character and the film’s narrative direction.

D55 is jointly produced by Wunderbar Films, Dhanush’s home banner, and RTake Studios, a Mumbai-based production house. The collaboration brings together production strengths from the Tamil and Hindi film industries, underscoring the film’s scale and cross-industry appeal.
