Retro was originally written for Superstar Rajinikanth – Karthik Subbaraj

In one of his recent interviews, director Karthik Subbaraj had revealed that Retro was a film that was originally written for Superstar Rajinikanth, but it did not take off with him. “Initially, I had written the script for Rajini sir. As it didn’t work out with him, I took it to Suriya sir. After Suriya sir came in, we made some changes to the action and romance episodes in the film,” said the director.

Suriya’s Retro is coming out this week, on the 1st of May. The film has great hype to it thanks to the songs by Santhosh Narayanan, and there are many interesting elements in it.
