The makers of Draupathi 2 have unveiled a powerful new look of actress Rakshana Induchoodan, reaffirming her role as the female lead in this grand 14th-century historical action drama. The film, directed by Mohan G and produced by Netaji Productions in association with GM Film Corporation, continues to raise anticipation among fans of the franchise.
As part of the character reveal, the team shared a brief moral essence of Rakshana’s role, describing her as “a 14th-century woman of dignity and courage, who valued protecting dharma above her own life: a symbol of sacrifice and resilience.” This short character note adds emotional depth to her portrayal of Draupathi Devi.
This emotional, rooted description gives further depth to Rakshana’s portrayal, hinting at a character steeped in valor and spiritual strength. The latest poster also features lead actor Richard Rishi, portrayed as King Veera Simha Kadavarayan, highlighting the film’s epic scale and fierce period drama tone. The story is said to explore themes of bloodshed, legacy, and sacrifice surrounding the era of Hoysala ruler Veera Vallalar III and the valiant Kadavarayar dynasty.
Production for Draupathi 2 has been completed, with the release set for December. The film has been shot across diverse locations including Mumbai and Ariyalur, adding authenticity to its historical backdrop. Technically, the film boasts a strong team: Ghibran composes the music, Philip R Sundar handles cinematography, Devaraj leads editing, and Thanika Tony oversees action choreography.
