Superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta has reportedly opted out of Pongal 2019 release slot since the makers are mulling over some other better options. Sources say Sun Pictures and Sathya Jyothi Films, which is releasing Viswasam on January 10th, had agreed in-principle that Petta would hit screens on January 11th to provide a day’s gap for the Ajith starrer.
But now the team has started contemplating other dates including the Republic Day weekend, which the Karthi, Rakul Preet starrer Dev is also targeting. Petta is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and is currently in the post production stage.
