Rajinikanth – Kamal Haasan project confirmed; Nelson Dilipkumar to direct!

The long-anticipated reunion of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, nearly four decades in the making, has now been officially confirmed. The landmark project will be bankrolled by Red Giant Movies, marking the banner’s 17th production.

The film will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who previously collaborated with Rajinikanth on Jailer and is currently in the final stages of shooting its sequel, Jailer 2. This upcoming venture will therefore stand as the third collaboration between Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar, while marking Kamal Haasan’s first association with the director.

Adding to the scale and anticipation, the film’s music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose involvement sets high expectations for chart-topping songs and an energetic background score.

Currently referred to as Thalaivar 174 x KH 238, the project is expected to go on floors in the second half of the year. The schedule is planned to commence after Rajinikanth completes his 173rd film, directed by Cibi Chakaravarthy, and Kamal Haasan wraps up his 237th project under the direction of Anbariv.

The makers are set to make the official announcement with a grand video promo, scheduled for release on February 21st at 12:07PM. The promotional video will feature Nelson Dilipkumar and Anirudh Ravichander alongside the two legendary stars and will be unveiled simultaneously online and in select theatres.

With this historic collaboration finally taking shape, the film has already become one of the most closely watched projects in Indian cinema. All eyes are now on the announcement, as audiences await further updates from the makers.
