Superstar Rajinikanth, who is currently shooting for Jailer 2 under the direction of Nelson, was spotted earlier today at the Chennai airport. While interacting with the media, the veteran actor dropped a significant update about his much-anticipated next project, especially the one speculated to mark a grand reunion with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan.
When asked about teaming up again with Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth responded,
“My next will be with RKFI and Red Giant Movies, but the director is not finalized. Only if the story and characterization permits, we will be joining together. The plan is on, but the director is not finalized yet.”
This candid clarification has left fans stunned, especially those who had their hopes pinned on director Lokesh Kanagaraj helming the much-hyped reunion of the two legends. Speculation had been rife that the Vikram and Coolie director would be bringing Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan together for a mega project. However, Rajinikanth’s latest statement suggests that no final call has been made regarding the director.
With Lokesh Kanagaraj currently occupied with his acting debut in director Arun Matheswaran’s upcoming film, questions are now being raised about his availability and involvement in the Rajini – Kamal project.
Will Lokesh eventually lock the project once he completes the full script and narration? Or will he move on to Kaithi 2, as earlier scheduled, after wrapping his current acting commitment? Lets wait and watch.
