After a lot of financial hurdles, Rajini Murugan sees it’s grand release today over 800+ screens worldwide by Thirrupathi Brothers. Rajini Murugan is undoubtedly the first preference among family audiences for this festival and director Ponram needlessly gets to succeed in his targeted zone.

The entire story revolves in Madurai, with a neat definition in the title card that this film will showcase the nativity side/people of Madurai which is not shown to us often. Rajkiran is the central pivot of the movie, who has settled down his entire family in abroad and lives as a wealthy/respected grand father who seeks care and affection from his family.

Sivakarthikeyan, another grandson of Rajkiran, who lives in Madurai with his family is the only companion for Rajkiran and is a carefree (typical Siva role) guy who roams and gags with his friend Soori throughout. Keerthy Suresh is not an unknown girl to Siva’s family, but got separated from theirs during their childhood days. Samuthirakani is the only baddie in the town and gets money from the big shots by protecting them legally & illegally. While Rajkiran plans to sell a property of his to settle down Sivakarthikeyan, Samuthirakani comes into their way and tries to cheat Rajkiran’s family and the people, declaring he is also one among grandchildren of Rajkiran, and this ends the first half.

2nd half completely relies on this single plot and that’s the only thing to mention as story for this 150+ mins family entertainer. Siva – Soori combination entertains again after VVS and this shouldn’t be compared to the latter. On mentioning the drags, 90 mins of expansion on the single plot in the 2nd half is really too long for a cinema lover. On the other side, director Ponram gets all boxes checked for entertaining family audiences through Sivakarthikeyan and Rajkiran! Imman’s music plays a vital role in bringing in the smiles, with dancing shoes expected to be spotted in the rural centers.

At an aerial view, Rajini Murugan is a full fledged family entertainer for this festival season and provides harmless entertainment for those who seek a time-pass fare to spend time with the familial folk!
