Pradeep Ranganathan launches production house PR Show; unveils maiden female-centric film with Mamitha Baiju

The actor-filmmaker launches PR Show, introduces six assistant directors as filmmakers, and announces a female-centric entertainer starring Mamitha Baiju.

Actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan has officially stepped into film production with the launch of his own banner, PR Show. Rather than simply announcing a new production house, Pradeep has used the occasion to introduce a new generation of filmmakers by entrusting his debut production to six of his former assistant directors.

The creative team, collectively known as The Alpha Unit, will direct the film based on a story penned by Pradeep Ranganathan. The initiative reflects his belief in nurturing fresh talent and creating opportunities for aspiring filmmakers, making the launch of PR Show as much about empowering new voices as producing films.

The banner’s maiden venture will be a female-centric commercial entertainer starring Pradeep’s Dude co-star Mamitha Baiju in the lead. The makers describe the project as a blend of commercial appeal and quality storytelling, aiming to strike a balance between engaging entertainment and strong content.

Backing the project is a notable technical crew. Cinematography will be handled by Dinesh Kumar, while Sai Abhyankkar has been roped in to compose the music. Pradeep E. Ragav will oversee the editing, forming a strong technical backbone for the film.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the announcement is Pradeep Ranganathan’s decision to spotlight his assistant directors instead of positioning himself at the forefront. By handing over the directorial responsibilities to The Alpha Unit, he has chosen to celebrate collective growth, reinforcing the idea that success becomes even more meaningful when shared with those who have grown alongside the journey.

The project also marks a special reunion between Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu. Their association comes full circle, as Ashwath had once cast Pradeep in one of his short films, believing he belonged in front of the camera. Years later, Pradeep emerged as one of Tamil cinema’s successful young talents, with Dragon becoming a major blockbuster. Now, Ashwath embarks on his acting journey through Pradeep’s maiden production, adding an emotional layer to their long-standing professional relationship.

The upcoming film is slated for a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, signalling PR Show’s ambition to reach audiences across South India with its very first production.
